The Clark family was blessed with Shelby on May 30th, 1994. He arrived to this great world at a mere 2lbs. 10oz. He was no bigger than the doctor's big hand. He stayed in the NICU for five months until he reached 5lbs and was able to go home.
Shelby was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and hydrocephalus. He had to have a shunt placed before he went home. So far he has had a shunt replacement surgery, three hernia removal surgeries, dental surgery, and he had both his hips set. He is a very sweet little guy, weighing in at around 75lbs at thirteen and a half years old.
Shelby Clark

Shelby's favorite activities are watching anything to do with Super Friends or Walker, Texas Ranger. He loves going to church and only gets upset when sad songs such as "Amazing Grace" are sung. His mom says, "He has definately brought our little immediate family of fourteen people closer together." Shelby has a twelve year old brother named Dakota who is a great help and keeps an eye on Shelby.
Shelby only begun painting recently when he painted his first three pictures for his Angel Boy Art Gallery! He says that painting is awesome and he enjoys the attention. His family has helped him try finger painting, and several other techniques, but "slap painting" is Shelby's preferred method!
His mother, Carol, told us that, "We feel that him using his hands will strengthen his upper body. Painting also seems to open his mind to other ideas. I love that when we ask him what he wants to name a painting you can see that mind just going! I hope in the future we can help him start to draw figures and shapes and use it [art] as a learning tool.".
